We always had such an active lifestyle, even spending our winters in South Africa for about 15 years, and we never thought things could change quite so quickly. After Ken suffered his accident, we knew that we would need 24-hour care.
Our CCG recommended a couple of different homecare providers, but the reason we chose Direct Homecare is because of the two ladies we met there, Joanna and Sofia. The way they listened to us from the start and explained all our options really impressed me, as no other care provider had been this clear and helpful.
When Helen and Rhianne started caring for Ken, I felt as though someone had sent me a pair of angels; I could fully trust them and the exceptional level of care they always deliver, and I believe trust is what matters most. I know that Ken is always very well looked after, and if there are any issues then I am confident that I can speak to Sofia and they will be resolved.
It was Ken’s birthday recently; he got to see all of his family and friends again and it was a great moment for him and a reminder of our journey so far. From being in hospital to going back to doing some of the things we love, such as having friends around again, I don’t believe anyone could go through this without having the right support in place.
