Tough Mudder Run for Spinal Injury Association

Whether at work or in our personal lives, at Direct Healthcare, we are always committed to offer our help for the causes we believe in as we constantly try to make a difference in the communities which we are part of.

Our clinical manager Joanna and our care coordinator Samira are the perfect embodiment of this way of living.  In 2018 they completed a Tough Mudder raising almost £3,000 for the Spinal Injuries Association. Inspired by the SCI people we care for, they took on the gruelling 5mile obstacle course. You can see them pictured below, and in spite of being tired after running for 5 miles through obstacles, you can see their pride and happiness to have achieved their goal and made a difference.

The Spinal Injuries Association is the leading national charity that exists to help people with spinal cord injuries on their unique journey towards leading an independent and fulfilled life. Advising and supporting them and their families and educating, advocating and campaigning on their behalf.

For almost 50 years they have been the only source of information and advice for many SCI people. Through their Support Network they provide crucial peer support, clinical advocacy and advice, connecting the 50,000 plus people living with SCI in the UK with the experts they need to help them adapt to life with a permanent disability and overcome social, clinical, psychological and economic barriers to a fulfilled life.
