Direct Homecare Celebrates Lauren Thomas’ Success at the Stars of Social Care Awards

Direct Homecare is delighted to announce that Lauren Thomas, Registered Manager at Direct Homecare, has been awarded the Inspirational Home Care Manager Award (South) at the Stars of Social Care Awards.

This award recognises Lauren’s dedication, leadership, and commitment to delivering exceptional care for the people we support, as well as the support and guidance she provides to the wider Direct Homecare team.

Lauren’s journey with Direct Healthcare Group spans almost seven years, during which she has continued to grow professionally and take on new challenges. Having progressed into her role as Registered Manager at Direct Homecare, Lauren has brought together her experience as an Adult Nurse with her passion for making a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

Throughout her career, Lauren has embraced opportunities to develop her skills, undertake further training, and step outside her comfort zone. Her approach reflects the values at the heart of Direct Homecare, ensuring that every person we support receives care that is personalised, compassionate, and focused on helping them achieve the life they want to live.

Speaking about her nomination and win, Lauren shared that being recognised came as a surprise. Like many people working in care, her motivation has always been centred around the people she supports rather than awards or recognition. However, knowing that colleagues had taken the time to nominate her made the achievement even more meaningful.

The award ceremony was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the dedication of everyone working across the care sector. For Lauren, the evening was not only about receiving an award, but about recognising the teamwork, commitment, and everyday efforts that make a difference.

When Lauren’s name was announced as the winner, her thoughts immediately turned to the people who have been part of her journey the incredible Direct Homecare team, the families who place their trust in us, and the individuals we have the privilege of supporting every day.
